Rev. Edward S. Thomas

The second of three children, Rev. Edward S. Thomas was born in Jackson, MS on January 23, 1979 to the late Rev. Carl E. Thomas and Mrs. Geneva Catherine Randle Thomas.  Rev.  Thomas grew up in a God-fearing Christian home, where his father was also his Pastor.  As a 6th generation preacher, Pastor Thomas received his calling into the gospel ministry at the age of 16.  When his peers were out doing other things, Pastor Thomas was preaching God’s word.


Rev. Thomas is a product of the Clarksdale Municipal School district where he graduated from Clarksdale High School in 1997.  He furthered his education at Mississippi Valley State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (2002) and at Belhaven College in Jackson, MS; where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with an Emphasis in Family Studies (2008).  Rev. Thomas passionately believes that a call to preach is a call to preparation.


Rev. Thomas is married to the former Keisa T. Webster and they have 4 beautiful children: Lydia Alexis, Caleb Rashaad, Serenity La’Nya, and Trinity Grace, and one God daughter, Danai Winters.


For 16 years, Rev. Thomas served as an associate minister and Christian educator at New Covenant M.B. Church in Clarksdale, MS, and a youth minister at the Hinds Street Baptist Church in Greenville, MS. He has also preached many revivals and other services at many other churches.  From November 2005-2011, Pastor Thomas served as the Pastor of Concord Missionary Baptist Church located at 10204 Curtis Road in Batesville, MS.  Under Pastor Thomas’ leadership the church grew spiritually, and lives were transformed by the preaching and teaching of God’s word. In October of 2011 the King’s Temple church family elected Pastor Thomas as their fourth Pastor. Under his leadership the church became a pillar in the community, was active in outreach and evangelism and moved from membership to discipleship.  He also served as the Moderator of the Coahoma County Baptist District association He served faithfully until October 2020. In October of 2020, the Greater Northside M.B. Church called Pastor Thomas to serve as her 3rd Senior Pastor.  His tenure as such began on November 1, 2020.  His most sincere desire to please God by serving Him and His people.


Pastor Thomas is affiliated with the General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Mississippi, affiliated with the National Baptist Convention, and a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
